Search by Criteria:

Costumes can be searched for by Name, Description, Costume Type, Color, Storage Location, Production, Role, and many other fields. You may enter data in more than one of the search fields.  Click on the "Search" button to see a list of the results.

Special Notes:

1)  Search Name and Description:  Enter a value and the program will search both the "Name" and "Description" field.

2)  Exact match:  For the Costume Name and Size you can enter part or all of the details you are searching for.  If you want the program to search only for the text you entered - click on the check box Exact Match.

Example:

Costume Name:  Blue Dress

If you check Exact match it will only find costumes with the name "Blue Dress".  It will not find costumes with the name "Blue Dress with flowers" or "Formal Blue Dress"

3)  "NOT" qualifier.  Sometimes you want to see everything that is "NOT Checked Out" - (In Storage, at Cleaners, Checked In, etc.)

4)  Source - The Source field is a text field but it also is linked to the Drop Down box next to it.  You can type in a value in the "Source" field or select if off the list.

5)  Production Names:

Costume pieces can be assigned to productions in 2 ways:

1)  Individual costume pieces can be assigned to a production on the Costume Pieces screen - Productions tab.j

2)  Individual costume pieces can be assigned to an Ensemble - which can then be assigned to a Role in a Production.

In both cases a Costume Piece can be assigned to more than one Production. If a Costume Piece is assigned to more than one production and the Production Name is included in the search the Costume Piece will be displayed once for each production - which can make for a very long list of Search Results.

You have the option to include Production Names in the Search Results.  The default is for no Production Names.

To Include the Production Name:

1)  Select Yes for "Do you want to display the Production Names" question.  You will notice that the selection criteria boxes for Productions and Roles appear.

2)  If the costume pieces have been related to the Productions on the Costume Piece form, select "Productions".

If the costume pieces have been related to the Productions through an Ensemble record - select"Ensembles"

3)  If you want to search for all the Costumes related to a single Production or Role (the Costume Pieces need to be assigned through  Ensembles / Roles) - select the name of the Production off the list.

6) Include Discarded Items?

You have the option to include items marked as Discarded.

If you include Discarded items the word "<Discard>" will show up in the Costume Name to alert you that has been marked as Discarded.
