Main Menu

The Main Menu screen is the main menu where you can select the module to work with.  Once you open the Costumes screen or the Reports screen you will see the screen name in the tab at the top of the screen.  You can move between screens just by selecting the tabs.  See the Main Menu menu and tab below.

The Company Name and logo, that was entered on the Company Information screen will appear at the top of the Main Menu screen.  The Company Name will appear on all other menu screens and reports.

The version number of the program is displayed at the bottom of the screen.  The version displayed is 2021-7.  Your version may be a different number .

The modules that are installed are displayed in the left column.  If you were to un-install the Patterns module it would not be displayed.  If you install/uninstall modules and the Main Menu screen does not accurately reflect the installed modules, click on the "Refresh" button in the lower left corner.

The Productions and Check-out / Rental features are available for the Costumes, Performance Management, Props/Sets, Jewelry and Wigs modules.  The Patterns and Scripts modules are not linked to the Productions and the Scripts module has its own checkout features.

If you have turned on "Log-in / Security" you will see a Log-in screen when the database opens.  See the Log-in section for more information.

The "How to Begin" popup is linked to the "How to Begin" button.

When you open the program for the first time you will see 2 additional Popups - "Theatre Inventory Database Setup Checklist" and "Company Information".

The Theater Inventory Database Setup Checklist is to give you information on the file folders for photos, a link to a handout to help with the Trust Center Settings, the Photo Rotation features and a link to the "Company Information" form.

1) Folders for Photos: - The database will set up folder to store your photos but you should check to be sure they are where you want them.  If you are storing the photos on a network server or an on-line service - like DropBox, then you want to be sure the program knows where to look for the photos when you trying to link a photo to a Costume Piece or Props/Sets, etc. record.

2)  Trust Center Settings - You will need to check the Trust Center settings for each workstation where the database is used.  Here is a link to the Resource Guide with instructions on how to get the settings right.

3)  Photo Rotation Software - The current version of the Theatre Inventory Database has the option to rotate photos 90 degrees left and right.  The "Test JPG Rotation" button opens a Popup with a way to test if the Rotation software is working on your PC.  Some old versions of MS Windows need some extra settings updated but most versions of Windows 10 and more recent versions are fine.

4)  Company Setup - this is a shortcut to the Company Information / Setup screen (See more information here).
